Cate Blanchett won an Oscar for her large lipped portrayal of Kate Hepburn.

Earlier in her career, she tried a less glamorous role:

An albino belle with bizarre red eyeballs.

Gary Busey and Jeremy Irons. Just two of the talented actors who have taken career detours as imitation albinos. Now add Cate Blanchett to the list. Long before her lip-swollen yet award-winning turn in "The Aviator," Cate donned a white wig in the immigrant saga, "Bordertown" (1995). Cate appears in only three episodes of this Australian miniseries, but her character still manages to abort a pregnancy, assault her abusive husband with a frying pan, and attempt to open a brothel. Whew! At least the plot is realistic enough that, unlike the usual gun toting evil movie albino, she doesn't shoot anyone in blood lust. Speaking of blood, check out Cate's crimson contact lenses. Yet another example of the cruel myth that folks with albinism have red pupils. Hopefully, the sharp shooting monk in "The Da Vinci Code" will at least avoid that sinister stereotype.
