Pete Davidson itching to joke about a penile rash |
This week, breakout “Saturday Night Live” cast member Pete Davidson jokingly reported another type of breakout: An allergy to latex condoms. Revealed as part of a Weekend Update rant, Davidson shared that the day after protected sex, he penis looked “all messed up.” After inappropriately texting images to his mother (she’s a nurse, but a SCHOOL nurse), Davidson saw a physician. He diagnosed a latex allergy and told Davidson to never use latex condoms again. Davidson went on to complain that an alternative, lambskin condoms were $65, too expensive. This confused him because lamb over rice is only $5.99.
Though the bit was a joke, latex allergy, which can be from gloves, elastic waistbands and condoms, is a real issue. Symptoms include redness, swelling and itch and can mimic STD’s like herpes and syphilis. Flares can be treated with cortisone creams and anti-inflammatory pills. Hopefully, comedy fans won’t rely on SNL for their medical info. Turns out there are non-latex options that don’t involve lambskin and are affordable. Wishing Davidson safe and funny bits for next week’s episode.
